Arts Award

Dominic Richardson

As a new Arts Award Centre, the Whistle Art Stop is currently working on a collaborative project with Northern Print and Berwick Visual Arts.  Dominic Richardson is 20 year old and is disabled  due to a car crash when he was 2 years old. Since signing up for the Arts Award Bronze level, his progress has been significant and his enthuisiasm matches it. With funding from Arts Council England and the High Sheriff of Northumberland, Dominic has been able to receive mentoring with Alison Raimes over 20 weeks.

We would like to hear from graduate artists interested in working with our Arts Award project and gaining experience as an Arts Award tutor. Please contact Alison Raimes to discuss.

We would like to thank the artists 'Memesis North' for their exhibition 'MERGE' in the SHED that attracted just under 200 visitors and for participating in a photography  workshop that was open to all.  We look forward to working with them again very soon.

The Klarty Klub is a newly formed group of young people aged 9 -15 who meet on Saturdays at the Whistle Art Stop. They are all currently working towards a Bronze level Arts Award and we welcome new members at this time. This has been made possible by funding from the High Sheriff of Northumberland and Arts Award funding from Arts Council England via Northumberland County Council and Bridge NE at the Sage. Thank you!
